Question a la blog

Have you ever used blogs in previous classes? If so, how?

  1. I have never used a blog in a previous class. I think it could be useful though -- especially if students have extended absences and miss a great deal of class. It would help keep everyone up-to-date.

  2. #1 - let me tell you how awesome it is that your picture is of yourself as a Simpson.... mine is too. I have never used a blog in a previous class but I can see how awesome it can be. Especially for you, imagine students turning in there projects via blog and showing creativity.

  3. I have never used a blog in a class, but I agree with Kellie that it would be a great resource for keeping students up to date. I also think it could be a great way to allow parents to see what is going on in their children's classrooms.

  4. I have not used a blog in a class yet. Like others have stated, blogs could be useful to update students, parents, and guardians about the curriculum covered for that day/week. This would also be a great place for students or parents to communicate back and forth with the teacher.

  5. I've never used a blog in a previous class. However, I have heard of examples where it is used to facilitate daily communication between student and educator. I have also heard it being used to post homework assignments, class lectures, or other materials for students who were absent or assist learners with different needs.

  8. Nope, never used a blog in a class. But I vaguely remember a teacher in my undergrad talking about blogs and we all thought he was crazy. Turns out he wasn't. I'm planning on using my blog to communicate with parents, post assignments for home as well as what we are working on in class. Plus, I think everything I have to say is really, really, important, so it should be on the internet so the whole world can bask in the glow of my amazing 3rd grade assignments.

  9. I have never used a blog for class but I used to be all about blogging when I was in high school. I do think its a very public way to post information and I think it would be great for communication among parents and students!

  11. I have never used a blog in class before. I think it is a really cool concept for kids to use in upper grades, but I wonder how you could integrate it into younger/elementary grades.

  12. I once had a professor who had a blog. We could get extra credit if we posted a comment on his blog. He is highly involved in creativity and teaching in early childhood education so the blog was applicable to our course.

  13. I do have a class, but my administrators have failed to give me internet access in my classroom. Otherwise, I would use the blog to post additional resources and helps for my students.

  14. I have never used a blog before period. I think that they can be very good tools for the classroom, and you made a comment about them that I had not thought about. To use them as a communication tool with parents is a great idea. I am beginning to believe there are many good elements about blogs.
